There’s no time like the present to transform the future.

Growing Together is your invitation to invest in the people and programs that make McGillis special. Now is the time to inspire our community so the next generation will have a place to learn, grow, and play!

Our campaign is built around four foundational priorities that will forge a news path for our curriculum, programs, and community.

Maximizing the power of outdoor teaching, learning, and play

McGillis students learn and play outside every day—rain or shine, sleet or snow. They imagine, create together, and play sports year-round. They deserve spaces for learning and play that match their ambitions.

Inspiring students to solve the problems of tomorrow while giving them more room to grow

The Integrative Studies (IS) program at McGillis, our unique and innovative pedagogy, teaches Middle School students by fusing Humanities, Science, and Writing curricula to tackle one critical question at a time. Our West Campus building is a visionary expansion of our footprint. It will provide fertile ground for nurturing these learners as they develop their creativity and problem-solving skills.

Celebrating and supporting neurodiverse learners

In the fall of 2020, we launched The Learning Center (TLC) to serve students with language-based learning differences: dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. This program, which is the only one of its kind in the state of Utah, has experienced tremendous growth in four short years. We plan to fully integrate all three of our divisions under one roof, the physical manifestation of our commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and security.

Securing our urban campus

McGillis is nestled within the Douglas Neighborhood near downtown Salt Lake City. While our urban campus gives students access to everything from downtown landmarks to the Wasatch Mountains, it also means we are exposed to the unpredictable nature of a city environment. Today’s world demands that we do even more to provide protected spaces for our entire kehilah (community). We must enhance the safety and security measures already in place and provide additional upgrades for the benefit of all Magpies.
